UPPER WEST REGIONAL CAUCUS HOLD THEIR 2ND QUARTER REVIEW MEETING

The Upper West Regional Caucus of the Association of Health Service Administrators, Ghana – AHSAG held their 2nd Quarter Review Meeting on Tuesday, 29th July, 2025.

In attendance were Health Service Administrators and Hospital Administrators in the Region led by the Deputy Director, Administration [DDA], Mr. Prosper Lana who took participants through the key performance areas which included:

  1. Emphasis on best procurement practices
  2. Estate planning and infrastructure management with emphasis on the rebranding agenda
  3. Equipment and maintenance issues.

Hon. Samson Abu, the Caucus Chairperson led the Business session. He called on members to help in building a vibrant Caucus that can support members in times of needs. He also reiterated by calling on members to consult each other in the area of their operations aside the formal meetings where necessary and aided in planning their activities for the remaining year.

A courtesy call was also paid by members on the newly posted Regional Director of Health Service [RDHS], Dr. [Med] Josephat Nyuzaghl, and assured him of their unwavering support in his tenure.

Members outlined some issues for consideration by the RDHS. Some of the issues included:

  1. The need for appointment of Support Service Staff
  2. Building the capacity of Senior management at the facilities levels
  3. Considering deprived area staff when it comes to study leave approval
  4. Poor power situation causing frequent equipment breakdowns.

The RDHS in return expressed his appreciation to members and indicated that his door is open to welcome any proposal that would improve service delivery in the Region. He called on the team to rely on their rich vein of experiences to ensure team work by offering the best technical advice and support to leadership.

Members were refreshed after the Review meeting and hope for more during the year.
