GREATER ACCRA REGIONAL CAUCUS HOLD TWO DAY CPD

The Greater Accra Regional Caucus of the Association of Health Service Administrators, Ghana – AHSAG held a two day Continuous Professional Development [CPD] programme at the Institute of Local Government, Ghana, Madina on Wednesday, 23rd and Thursday, 24th July 2025.

The two day CPD programme saw in attendance the Caucus Parent and National President, AHSAG, Rev. Ezekiel Amadu Daribi, the Director, Health Administration and Support Services [D-HASS], Ghana Health Service, Dr. Ebo Hammond, the Regional Director of Health Service [RDHS], Greater Accra Region, Dr. Robert Amesiya, the Deputy Director, Administration [DDA], Mr. Emmanuel Taadi, the Head of Legal Unit of Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Fidel Leviel Esq. and the Deputy Director, Human Resource [DD-HR], Ghana Health Service, Mr. Ameyaw Boateng.

The theme for the CPD programme was “Strengthening Administrative Leadership for Quality Health Service Delivery” and brought together members from the Ghana Health Service, Christian Health Association of Ghana [CHAG], Teaching Hospitals, Security agencies, Quasi-Government and the private institutions.

Addressing the House, AHSAG’s National President called on members to show leadership and demonstrate quality. He also admonished them to take up positions as and when they become available.

There were exciting and thoughtful presentations which were facilitated by seasoned personalities including DDA, Mr. Emmanuel Taadi who took participants through the topic “Effective Administrative Practices in Hospitals”. He brought out a case study which reflected current trends making it interactive and impactful.

DD-HR, Ghana Health Service, Mr. Ameyaw Boateng also enlightened members on “Enhancing Customer Service Excellence in Healthcare Institutions” while Mr. Fidel Leviel Esq. delivered a presentation on “Mitigating Medicolegal Issues in Healthcare Settings”. In this era of uncountable medico-legal issues, the presentation was timely and mind-boggling.

The CPD which is an essential activity in ensuring continuous improvement and capacity building of members was successful and members left refreshed.
